“Fit” This Into Your Schedule

By Inside Columbia

Become a Hero of Hope by taking part in Fitness for a Cure on Saturday, Feb. 26, from 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. at The Crossing.

For the 11th year, Wilson’s Fitness is teaming up with the American Cancer Society for this fun fitness fundraiser.

The suggested donation is $15. There will be food, a silent auction, kids programming, fitness-related shopping and more!

Each year, the American Cancer Society estimates the numbers of new cancer cases and deaths in the U.S. and compiles the most recent data on population-based cancer occurrence. In 2021, 1,898,160 new cancer cases and 608,570 cancer deaths were projected to occur in the U.S. After increasing for most of the 20th century, the cancer death rate has fallen continuously from its peak in 1991 through 2018, for a total decline of 31%. The drop is due to fewer smokers and improved early detection and treatment methods. Much progress has been made, but more research and research funding is always needed.

Even if you can’t take part in Fitness for a Cure, consider a donation to The American Cancer Society today.
