Next week, participate in the Save a Life: Naloxone education and distribution event. From 1-2 p.m. Aug. 15 at MU Boone County Extension Office, 1020 N. Highway UU, learn how members in the community can help to prevent opioid overdose deaths through the use of Naloxone, also known as Narcan, which is a drug that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.

The training will also show the community how to recognize signs of an opioid overdose and explain how to use and access Narcan nasal spray. Participants do not need to register. They will get light snacks and can go home with a free box of Narcan.
