People in Columbia are coming together this weekend to provide support, education and awareness about those who are suffering or have suffered a miscarriage, an ectopic pregnancy, a stillbirth or the loss of an infant. At 1 p.m. Sunday, anyone is welcome to take part in the Remembering Our Babies walk at 551 E Southhampton Drive hosted by the MU Women’s Hospital.

In October 1988, former President Ronald Reagan proclaimed October as National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month as a way for families to come together and be surrounded by support from their community.

On Sunday, people can join the walk and attend a brief memorial service with a reading of names of lost babies. Other remembrance activities will be available for families as well. To participate, email PraterL@health.missouri.edu or call 573-771-4266 to RSVP by Wednesday.
