A Big Deal

By Inside Columbia

One of CoMo’s favorite barbecue joints has a second location to celebrate. Big Daddy’s BBQ is open for its first day today at its second smokehouse spot at 1802 Paris Road.

Lloyd and Fontella Henry opened the original Big Daddy’s BBQ in 2017. The couple previously owned Lloyd’s Rib House, a barbecue restaurant downtown in the early ’90s.

The couple and their ‘cue graced our pages again in July 2018 in a feature on Columbia’s food truck fleet.

The new location will be open 11 a.m.-8 p.m. and according to Lloyd, it includes a bar and “will be casual and fun, with an expanded menu that includes more Southern soul food dishes.” A different special item will be offered each day Thursday-Sunday. A few examples are fried chicken, candied yams and oxtails.
